If you work for the NHS and are looking to improve your English & Maths skills to advance your career or progress onto an Apprenticeship then the answer is YES.
There are different levels of study, and you will have an initial assessment to make sure you start learning at the level that is right for you. The levels we offer are:
- Adult Level 1 Edexcel Functional Skills English and or Maths
- Adult Level 2 Edexcel Functional Skills English and or Maths
Courses start in September/October and January/February.

About us
Previously Brixton based, GMSZ has been around for over 10 years offering help and support to the local community.
This specific programme is intended to serve as both a gateway to career progression as well as supporting the Health service staffing situation. We want to fit classes and support around your busy employment position allowing you to balance work and studies seamlessly. If you're nervous about starting studies again, don't worry you'll receive plenty of support no matter what level you're working at.

How it works
Contact us
First enquire! We will answer all of your questions. Once you've been in touch with our staff they'll support your application and book you into the next enrolment session.
Enrolment Session
Then you'll attend enrolment at a local college like Southbank, here you'll take a short assessment in English & Maths. Results of these will be used to refer you to the relevant course.
On the Course
Now your enrolled! You can chose which type of learning program you want to do from the three options we offer - helping you balance your busy schedule. Along with 24/7 support from GMSZ.
Progression
You've successfully completed - Congratulations! Time to take your next steps in learning or your career. We're happy to help.

Our exams are all Edexcel official, so if you'd like to refresh your memory before enrolling with us or if you'd like to get some extra practice in before your exams - download any of the papers you need below! This is so you can have a better insight of the areas that you'll have to cover and the difference's between Level 1 and 2.
